Nurse Practitioner,

Nikaley Basham, FNP-C

I was born and raised in Maxwell, Texas, and am the oldest of four siblings. After graduating from high school in New Braunfels, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from National University in San Diego, California.

I spent the first several years of my career as a nurse, including seven years as a certified obstetric nurse caring for mothers and their newborns during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. During that time, I also supported families through lactation education and birthing classes, which deepened my passion for patient education and continuity of care.

With a strong desire to expand my role and impact, I returned to Texas to pursue my Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where I became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

As a nurse practitioner, I have worked in primary care treating patients across the lifespan, managing a wide range of conditions—from acute illnesses like infections to chronic, ongoing health concerns. I have also worked in women’s health, caring for patients with a variety of obstetric and gynecological needs.

My approach to care is rooted in compassion, education, prevention, and a holistic view of each patient. I believe in building strong relationships and empowering patients to take an active role in their health so they can achieve their best possible outcomes.

I am married and have two wonderful sons. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active in their football, baseball, and band activities. When we’re not at a game or event, I love spending time outdoors—especially fishing with my boys—or relaxing with a good book.
